Einstein the Yorkie: My Co-Pilot
The story of Einstein:
I was about to turn 30 and felt that I needed to shake my life up a bit. I had a good job, and was still on the move, so I didn’t have a mortgage or any other major debts. I thought that it might be time for a dog.
I knew I wanted a small animal because I wanted to be able to travel with him. I grew up with ShihTzus, and knew from that experience that if I wanted a dog under 10 pounds, I would want to go for a Yorkie or a Maltese. The woman who had bred my mom’s dog at the time, Dottie, had a friend who bred Yorkies and Malteses.
Here is the picture of Einstein that made me fall in love with him.
The picture that started it all. Those bowed legs! That expression!
And that’s how it all started. 15 years ago. And now he’s a little old man who loves to sleep in my lap, beg for treats, and with a tongue that hangs out because of losing so many teeth. He and I have been through a lot together. And I’m going to do my best to enjoy every last minute with him until it’s his time to transcend this earthly life.
